The iconic BSA name is set to roar back onto the streets, and Dubai might be one of its destinations! Mahindra, the Indian conglomerate that acquired BSA in 2016, has unveiled the BSA Gold Star 650, a motorcycle that blends classic design with modern performance. While an official launch date for Dubai is yet to be announced, here’s a look at what this exciting machine has to offer:
Classic Looks, Modern Twists
The BSA Gold Star 650 is a feast for the eyes for those who appreciate vintage aesthetics. The design draws inspiration from the original BSA Gold Star models of the past, featuring a sculpted fuel tank with pinstripes, chrome accents, and a round headlamp. The instrument cluster, however, gets a modern upgrade with a digital display for speedometer, tripmeter, and tachometer.
Power Under the Hood
The Gold Star 650 packs a punch with its 652cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. This powerhouse produces 45.6 PS of peak power at 6,000 rpm and 55 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm, promising a thrilling ride. The engine utilizes a DOHC (Dual Overhead Camshaft) setup with four valves per cylinder and twin spark plugs, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
Modern Safety Features
While the design evokes nostalgia, the Gold Star 650 doesn’t compromise on safety. The motorcycle comes equipped with a dual-channel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) for better control during sudden stops. Additionally, telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear provide a comfortable and stable ride.
Dubai Price: Awaiting Confirmation
Since the official launch date for Dubai is yet to be announced, there’s no confirmed pricing for the Mahindra BSA Gold Star 650. However, looking at its expected price range in India (around Rs. 5 lakh), we can make an educated guess. Considering import duties and other factors, the price in Dubai could be somewhere in the ballpark of AED 25,000 to AED 30,000 (subject to change).
